Mo' Mojo Summer Concert
Barberton Public Library and the Friends of the Library are co-sponsoring this high-energy, "party gras" band with the Barberton Parks and Recreation Department. Mo' Mojo takes Zydeco music and infuses it with Americana, Cajun, reggae, rock & roll, funk, R&B, and African and Latin rhythms. The free concert begins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19th at the Lake Anna Gazebo, right across the street from the Library.

DIY with Dia! CD Suncatchers
Three CDs bejeweled and beaded hanging from tree in the sunlight

Upcycle old discs with jewels and beads to create gorgeous suncatchers for your windows or garden. All supplies will be provided. Registration is required for this in-person program on Saturday, August 20, at 1:30 p.m.

What areas of the globe used to be considered dangerous? Explore the medieval period and learn more about why monsters were drawn on maps on Thursday, August 4 at 6:30 p.m.

Genealogy Club Presents - Graveyard Genealogy: Using Cemetery Records for Research

The Genealogy Club meets once per month to discuss genealogy. All experience levels are welcome.

This month's meeting is a presentation from Maggie Rose, MLIS, CPL. Maggie will present the types of death, funeral, and cemetery records and how to find them. She'll show you how to use cemetery records to extract facts about ancestors, and describe the types of American cemeteries, monuments, and records. We'll discuss how to plan a cemetery visit, what to bring and do during your visit, and list resources for further research on Tuesday, August 9 at 10:30 a.m.

Yoga: It's Like Reading For Your Muscles
Chair Yoga, June 14 and 28 at 12 p.m.
Join us at noon on August 9th and 23th to improve your flexibility by participating in a free chair yoga class. This gentle program will be led by Colleen Hohl, a 200-hour certified yoga instructor from the Asheville Yoga Center in North Carolina.

Your City, Your History
In the 1940s Barberton was a busy place! The war dominated daily life, the city celebrated its Golden Jubilee, or 50th anniversary, and the Barberton High School football team won the state championship. If you think that's all you'd be mistaken, so much more happened during this exciting decade! Learn more on Wednesday, August 17 at 2:30 p.m.
