Summer Reading Performers

Visit the Akron ZooMobile on Monday, June 12 at 1:00 p.m. This interactive and educational animal program allows participants to test their athletic ability against animals from the Akron Zoo. Designed to encourage research and activity, this fun program appeals to all age levels.

Join us for the Bubble Lady’s action-packed Wonderful World of Bubbles show, with bubbles beyond your wildest imagination on Monday, June 19 at 1:00 p.m. 

All together now for this high-energy African Drumming Experience with Sogbety Diomande at the Lake Anna Gazebo, where you will experience the rhythms, dances, and songs of West Africa on Monday, June 26 at 1:00 p.m.

All ages and abilities are welcome to this outdoor performance.  In case of inclement weather the program will move into the Spillette Meeting Room in the Library.

Get Moving!

Chair Yoga, April 11 and 15

Have a seat at noon on June 13 and 27 and improve your flexibility by participating in a free chair yoga class. This gentle program will be led by Colleen Hohl, a 200-hour certified yoga instructor from the Asheville Yoga Center in North Carolina. No registration is required.

Join us for a fun evening craft on Thursday, June 15 at 6:15 p.m. We will have a short program to study junk journals. Afterward, we'll let our creativity fly as we design our own junk journal. Each participant will receive a small journal to begin. Supplies are included! Registration is Required.

BPL Trivia Night, Monday June 12, at 6:00 p.m. Ages 16 and up

Test your knowledge on Monday, June 12 at 6:00 p.m. with our trivia nights on the second Monday of every month from June-December. Battle it out in categories like science, music, and geography, and see which team emerges victorious. Winners receive bragging rights. Ages 16 and up.

Be our guest at our Disney-themed trivia night on Thursday, June 22 at 6:00 p.m. Answer questions about Disney characters, songs, movies, and more. See if your team has what it takes to go the distance. Princes and princesses of all ages are welcome to this family-friendly event.  

For the Birds!

On Wednesday, June 21 at 6:30 p.m. Matt Valencic of the Audubon Society of Greater Cleveland will showcase 50 species of "summer visitors" through 180 photographs of adult birds, babies, nests, and habitats. You will hear songs and calls, some sweet and musical like the Yellow Warbler, and others harsh like the Green Heron, and learn interesting facts about each bird. Join us live or register to receive a Zoom link to participate from home.

Volcanoes: Earth's Might, Tuesday June 27 at 6:00 p.m.

Have the recent volcanic eruptions in Hawaii piqued your interest in volcanoes? In this program, we will discuss volcanoes and how they have formed, types of volcanoes, and a few of the most famous volcanoes. We will also look at the ways volcanoes have impacted the planet, the flora and fauna of Earth, and humans and our societies. Join us on Tuesday, June 27 at 6:00 p.m. as we learn about one of Earth's most powerful forces, volcanoes.

If you have been researching for twenty years or twenty minutes this program is for you. Elissa Scalise Powell will discuss ways of organizing, preserving, and sharing your family history. Elissa will join us via Zoom on the big screen and participants will be able to watch and talk with her.
